DWS , I saved this from an old post. This was the load Jim McDermott's shot his great group a few years ago at EG. 330 grain pointed bullet by Verner Wolf 24/1 alloy. 50/50 yellow vaseline and bee's wax, 16.5 grains of 4759 large pistol primers, bullet breech seated. All components are weighed and held to two tenths of a grain. any bullet that feels different in any way when seated is shot off target. This was originally posted by Fitz on the msn site. Hello Dws, I haved recently developed a duplex load for my 38-55 using 5.2 Gr 4759 and 36 Gr goex FFG. I put a milk carton wax wad on the powder and then compress it to make room for the bullet which has been a 290 and 300 gr.
Alloy is 1-25 and primer is winchester LR. These bullets are
from liberty cast bullets in Oregon and are lubed with SPG.
I make my own lube and soon will be casting some bullets.

38-55 18” Twist .3756 Groove Dia.

To Date The Most Accurate Load For Me Has Been 16.5 Grains IMR 4227, Rem 9 1/2 Primers, Emmerts Lube, Breech Seated 305 Grain Brooks Bullet With No Wad Being Used & Russ Weber Breech Seater.

This Load Has Worked Real Well For Me In Schuetzen Competion!

Hope This Helps John
